Ultrasound

As part of our comprehensive diagnostic capabilities our hospital is pleased to offer ultrasound to our patients and their owners. Ultrasound is a very useful tool that allows the veterinarian to see inside the body in a different way than an x-ray does. With ultrasound we are able to examine the internal structure of abdominal organs and look for any abnormalities. We are also able to use the ultrasound to evaluate the way a patient's heart contracts. This is very helpful in determining if heart disease is present and helps to guide our medical therapy.

In addition, in some cases we are able to use ultrasound to guide a biopsy needle to obtain a tissue sample without major surgery, allowing for a much quicker recovery for the patient.
