![]() Susan (Gilliland) Simkins has been practicing at Fryeburg Vet since shortly after her graduation from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Susan has developed an interest in ultrasound and has been utilizing ultrasound here for 7 years. She enjoys living here in western Maine with her husband, 2 children, 4 cats, and 2 dogs. |

![]() Scott Johnson DMV Scott graduated from UPENN in 1991. He has been with FVH since 1993, and is an owner/partner with the practice. He enjoys small animal medicine and surgery, especially orthopedic surgery. He enjoys small ruminant care as well (sheep and goats) and hopes to be able to expand this part of his career. He resides in Fryeburg and enjoys all the activities that our area has to offer having a special interest in skiing and horseback riding with his daughter Chelcie. |

Dave or "Doc" (nickname from softball career) grew up in Rochester, NY. He passed up offers to play pro baseball to attend Cornell University for 7 years, receiving his DVM degree in 1968. He worked at the Hussey Vet Hospital for 33 years before a back injury disabled him in 2003.
After 1 1/2 years recovery, Dave has returned on a part-time basis with his new team at the Fryeburg Veterinary Hospital where his interests are in physical diagnosis and Lyme's Disease.
Dave has 3 grown children and lives with his wife of 38 years, Linda, in North Conway. His hobbies are baseball, flower/vegetable gardening, finish carpentry, and his faithful Basset Hound "Dopey".

![]() Anna is originally from Newton, MA and had spent many years as a carpenter, theatrical stage manager and a caterer. She fulfilled her dream of going back to school and graduated from the Atlanta Veterinary College in 2007. Dr. Portnoy's interests include small animal surgery and expanding the practice of sheep, goat, bovine, and camelid medicine. She is an avid Red Sox fan and loves living in New England with her partner and their dogs & cats. They have happily welcomed their 1st grandchild, Miles, on June 9th. |

![]() Kate is originally from Pennsylvania and received her BS in Animal Bioscience from Penn State. She moved to N. Conway in 2002 and began working behind the scenes at Fryeburg Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2002. She then attended Tufts University for her DVM degree. She worked for 1 year in the N. Conway and Gorham areas before returning to Fryeburg Veterinary Hospital. She is extremely excited to be back working with people who share in her compassion for animals and excitement to perform the highest quality medicine. Kate lives in N. Conway with her husband, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. |
